For employers

Giving employees a WARN notice? Give them more than a packet and good luck.

If you are about to tell people their jobs are ending, the notice is not the only thing they need.

Marcus can provide job-search and outplacement help before or after separation, so affected employees are not left with a folder and a goodbye.

Talk with Marcus about a layoff

This page is for the company giving the notice

Someone searching “I just got laid off” needs a different kind of help. That person should read job search help after a layoff.

This page is for the employer, HR, the owner, or the people leader who has to deliver a WARN notice, a reduction in force, or a closing and wants to lessen the blow.

What you can offer before the last day

Employees can start a job search before their last day when they already know the job is ending. Marcus can help them find openings, prepare applications, reach recruiters and hiring managers, and follow up. The company can sponsor that help.

Marcus is a private reemployment service. We are not a government Rapid Response agency. We can work alongside your HR team. More detail is on layoff and WARN outplacement.

What the employee still controls

The employee gets their own account. They choose the role and location. They review information before it is submitted. You do not get their password, and you do not get their private Application Passport.

Questions from HR and owners

Can we offer this before the separation date?

Yes. If people already know their jobs are ending, they can start the search before the last day. Starting earlier gives them more time to find work.

Who pays?

The company or another sponsor pays for the covered service. The employee does not pay for that sponsored help.

Does this replace legal WARN advice?

No. Marcus does not tell you whether you must file a notice or what the notice must say. We help the people who receive it look for the next job.

Will you guarantee they get hired?

No. We help with the search, the applications, and the follow-up. The next employer decides who to hire.

How do we start?

Email sales@marcusfacilities.com with your company name, about how many people are affected, where they work, the expected date, and the kind of support you want to provide.

A packet is not a plan.

People can read a list of job sites on their own. What they need is help doing the search.

You give the notice. Marcus helps them look for what comes next.
